The 26th Macao International Trade and Investment Fair (26th MIF), Macao Franchise Expo 2021 (2021MFE) and 2021 Portuguese Speaking Countries Products and Services Exhibition (Macao) (2021PLPEX) will be held concurrently at the Venetian in Cotai from next Wednesday to Friday with online and offline platforms for traders.

The details of the upcoming exhibitions were announced during a press conference held at China Civil Plaza in Nape yesterday.

It was also announced that the first day of the exhibitions will be only open to trade visitors while the public may attend the three fairs next Thursday and Friday.

Macau Trade and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM) President Benny Lau Wai Meng said in a speech that the exhibitions aim to offer increased opportunities for businesses and trade talks for companies and investors from different sectors. Lau also highlighted the key points of the event during his speech such as the inclusion of larger areas for the “2021 Science and Technology Week and Innovation and Technology Achievement Exhibition” and “China Traditional Chinese Medicine Health Brand Exhibition 2021”, the invitation of Shanghai as the partner city of this year’s MIF, and the tailoring of exhibitions according to rising trends and business modes, Lau said.

The three exhibitions cover a total area of 28,250 square metres, a 13 percent increase year-on-year, according to the IPIM statement, which added that there are a total of 1,710 booths, about 920 exhibitors and 1,020 online exhibitors offering over 2,200 online exhibits, with online and offline exhibitors from places like Brazil, mainland China, Macau, Portugal, and Southeast Asia. The exhibition will also feature themed areas such as the Chinese Provinces and Cities Pavilion, Distinctive Shops, and the Macau SME Pavilion, which will feature 90 booths that cover products ranging from souvenirs to wines. With Shanghai as the partner city for this year’s MIF, it was also announced during the conference that a Shanghai Pavilion will be set up at the exhibition.

Meanwhile, the statement pointed out that a “real-time online meeting” will be held for the online exhibitions along with the “Online Business Matching Service Platform (BM Platform)”, which will allow users to set up video-conferences with traders or buyers or utilise “online business matching rooms” in the Macau Pavilion for business meetings. The online matching, which began on Monday, will take place until December 12, with the statement adding that more than 100 online matching sessions have been completed. Moreover, to promote exhibitor products and services, arrangements such as a live broadcast, 80 online promotion seminars, and live-streaming by influencers will take place during the event.

Moreover, the statement underlined that “over 50 forums, meetings networking and promotional activities will be conducted during the three-day exhibition”.

During the exhibitions, free shuttle bus services will be available to the public, with the statement noting that the buses will travel between the venue and the peninsula’s north district and central district, as well as Taipa.

The statement said that enquiries can be made by contacting the MIF Coordinator on 2882 8711, the MFE Secretariat on 8798 9654 or PLPEX Coordinator on 8798 9349, or emailing info@mif.com.mo, sec@mfe.mo or info@plpex.mo.
