The Sports Bureau (ID) announced that the public San Fa Yuen (Estoril) outdoor swimming pool was closed yesterday for the off-season.
According to the statement, other outdoor public swimming pools under the bureau such as the ones in Dr Sun Yat Sen Park, near the Barrier Gate, Taipa Central Park, Cheoc Van and Hac Sa Park were closed on October 31 after the end of the “bathing season”.
The statement pointed out that the bureau will conduct maintenance on the facilities and equipment of the outdoor public swimming pools during the closure. The pools will reopen during next summer’s “bathing season”. San Fa Yuen will be open from April 1 to November 30, while the pools in Dr Sun Yat Sen Park, Taipa Central Park, Cheoc Van and Hac Sa Park will be open from May 1 to October 31, the statement added.
The statement underlined that the bureau will continuously enhance sports facilities and services of the “Public Sports Facilities Network” which is also part of the bureau’s aim of encouraging the public to pursue a healthy lifestyle by increasing their participation in sports activities and physical exercises, apart from achieving public fitness values through “Sports for All – Let’s Exercise for a Better Health”.
