Macau Urban Renewal Limited (MUR) is collecting “opinions” from those who intend to buy a flat in its Macau New Neighbourhood (MNN) residential project in Zhuhai’s Hengqin, with the aim of gaining a better understanding of Macau residents’ desire for the MNN flats, according to an MUR statement on Friday.

The collection of opinions aims to enable MUR to “improve its preparations for MNN home sales and gain a better understanding of Macau residents’ intentions to buy an MNN flat”, the statement said.

The MNN project, which got off the ground in 2021, is being developed by Macau Urban Renewal Limited, which is owned by the Macau government.

The MNN project consists of 27 residential towers, the topping-out of which was completed at the end of last year. The project features commercial facilities as well as various social service and community amenities.

Friday’s statement reaffirmed that MUR is now aiming to start MNN home sales in September after the project’s final survey inspection and formal acceptance is scheduled to be completed next month.

The statement also noted that Macau residents aged 18 or over who do not own any residential property in Zhuhai own more than one residential unit in Macau will be eligible to buy an MNN flat.

According to the statement, the opinion forms, only in Chinese, are available at the MNN sales centre on the first floor of Rodrigues Commercial Building on Avenida da Praia Grande, or on the MUR website https://www.mur.com.mo.

MUR is headquartered on the 18th floor of Rodrigues Commercial Building.

Eligible potential buyers can submit the completed forms by email to mnn_property@mur.com.mo or drop the forms into a green opinion-collection box in the ground-floor lobby of Rodrigues Commercial Building.

The statement also said that those who have submitted the opinion forms will receive the latest updates on the MNN project via SMS or email. The MNN neighbourhood consists of 27 residential towers with 19 to 26 floors each. The project will provide around 4,000 units for purchase, as well as around 200 units earmarked as rentals for highly-qualified professionals only.

MUR has said that if the number of Macau residents who apply to buy an MNN flat exceeds the number of flats available, a lucky draw will be held.

The statement noted that the lucky draw’s priority will be given to those who work, live or study in the Guangdong cities of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area (GBA).

The statement underlined that MNN unit owners can only sell their flat to those who are also eligible to buy one at least five years after they bought it.

The statement also noted that 80 percent of the MNN residential units are two-bedroom flats, while the remaining 20 percent are three-bedroom flats. Each two-bedroom flat has a gross floor area of about 88 square metres, while each three-bedroom flat has a gross floor area of about 118 square metres.

The statement also reaffirmed that the MNN flats will be sold at an average price of 30,000 yuan per square metre.

The MNN neighbourhood will have a school, a health station, a service centre for senior citizens, and a family service centre, the statement noted.

The statement also noted that the MNN neighbourhood will have around 4,000 car parking spaces. In addition, the neighbourhood will also feature a clubhouse, a tennis court, a basketball court, gardens, and children’s playgrounds, the statement said.

The statement said that in the future the MNN property management company will run a shuttle bus service between the Hengqin-Macau joint border checkpoint and the MNN neighbourhood.
