The Macau Government Tourism Office (MGTO) said in a statement on Friday that 13 award-winning photos and other entries in the Photo Collection Activity for the Macau Grand Prix are on display at the Grand Prix Museum until December 12.
The activity called for submissions of old photos of the Macau Grand Prix and was organised by MGTO from April to June. An award ceremony for winners of the first, second and third prizes, as well as five merit awards and five finalist awards was held on Friday.
The ceremony, according to the statement, was attended by several guests such as MGTO Director Maria Helena de Senna Fernandes and Sports Bureau (ID) Vice President Lam Lin Kio.
Senna Fernandes said in the statement that the museum collected a range of photos from between 1954 to 1979 through the activity, which captured various scenes such as the start of the races and trophy presentations. The statement said she hopes that by organising similar activities, the museum can boost the public’s enthusiasm and involvement in the Macau Grand Prix while also enriching its collection.
Meanwhile, the Macau Grand Prix-themed café next to the museum is presenting special offers through its “champion sets”, which are The Champion Hot Dog and Racing Cold Brew, from today until November 30. The statement said that patrons with purchases of 200 patacas or more will be given a free motor-race lucky bag.
