Macau's gross gaming receipts increased by 54.6 percent month-on-month to 6.7 billion patacas (US$839 million) last month, the Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau (DICJ) announced today.
Year-on-year, the casinos' gross gaming revenues rose by 0.01 percent.
November's receipts were the highest since July when they reached 8.4 billion patacas.
In the first 11 months, the sector's takings rose by 49.9 percent year-on-year to 78.9 billion patacas.
Macau's casinos have been hit by the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the local economy. Macau confirmed its first novel coronavirus case in January last year. Foreign nationals without the right of abode in Macau have been barred from entry.
Before the pandemic the Chinese mainland, Hong Kong and Taiwan accounted for about 90 percent of Macau's visitor arrivals.
At the end of October 2021, Macau had 42 casinos, the operations of four of which were suspended at that time, according to the latest available DICJ statistics.
