A Pearl River Delta (PRD) contemporary art exhibition entitled “Symbiosis: Imagery and Aptitude” (共生:圖像與上手—珠三角當代藝術展) is on display until December 19 at the Ox Warehouse Experimental Site (牛房倉庫). It is sponsored by the public Macau Foundation (FM).

According to a statement by the gallery, Macau and the PRD cities share connections in aspects of geography, climate, history, and culture. The statement says that the exhibition aims to promote experiential and creative exchanges, adding that art is a common language that people use to express and transform themselves.

The statement also says that the exhibition aims to underscore the participating artists’ perceptions. The exhibition comprises artworks from 16 Guangdong artists and four local ones who use different art mediums such as oil paintings, water colours, videos, augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) installations.

The statement quotes Ox Warehouse President Ng Fong Chao (吳方洲) as saying that art is a medium and a language. People explore the material medium behind images with their senses and perception, and this material medium reflects their genuine conditions. Moreover, Ng points out that the exhibition has been an annual project of the Ox Warehouse since 2019.

The Ox Warehouse Experimental site is located at 15 Rua do Volong (和隆街15號). It opens daily from 12 p.m. to 7 p.m. except Mondays. Admission is free.

As part of the Macau government’s COVID-19 prevention measures, all visitors are required to wear a facemask, show their digital health code and have their temperature checked.
