The Vasco Bar and Lounge at Artyzen Grand Lapa Macau in Nape will reopen on December 18, along with a new curated cocktail and beverage programme to provide an elevated and welcoming drinking experience for Christmas, according to a statement yesterday by the hotel.
The statement underlined that the Vasco cocktail programme captures the story of the Portuguese navigator Vasco da Gama (who died in 1524) who voyaged to India during the Age of European Expansion. The statement said that all signature cocktails will include inspired ingredients and rich spices catalogued by Vasco da Gama such as The Contender, a mix of strawberry gin, mandarin orange, cucumber and pickled jalapeno.
Aside from the Vasco cocktail programme, the statement pointed out that a selection of house favourite signature cocktails will also be available at the bar, including the Passionfruit Poncha which is made of white cane rum, honey, fresh lemon, grapefruit, and passion fruit. The statement also said that the bar will have its “Flight” spirits offering which will guide guests on tasting and exploring different styles of rums, cognacs, and whiskies from around the world.
The statement added that new daily rituals will become part of the culture at Vasco, including “Shipman’s Punch” which will be available upon arrival for guests daily, afternoon Spritzes, and “Parting Shot” which intends to act as a “bracing” farewell to guests.
The statement pointed out the bar has scheduled weekly drinking sessions throughout December. On Tuesday nights, it is “Smoke & Bubbles” in which all ladies will receive a complimentary glass of champagne topped with a smoke-filled flavour bubble. The statement said that “Friends of Vasco’’ and “Flight Night” on Wednesday nights will offer cocktail discounts for members of the Macau hospitality industry and all spirits flights will have discounts. The statement said that “Night Owls” Happy Hours on Thursday nights will feature drink specials which will be available from 10 p.m. till late for all guests.
According to the statement, DJ Ted will perform for the live line-up every Friday this December and a special line-up on Sunday December 19, which will all start at 9 p.m. The statement underlined that Duo band with Riya and Ray will perform pop hits on December 18, 20, and 25, which will all start at 9 p.m. The statement also underlined that a live house band will perform on Saturday nights this month.
According to the statement, the Vasco team partnered with Proof Creative to bring invigoration to the bar experience with elevated cocktails, collateral design, drinking rituals, and event programmes.
