A recent Sands China statement said this week that over 1,700 travel industry professionals gathered at The Londoner Macao last week to attend the Trip.com Group 2021 Global Partner Summit.
According to the statement, the summit took place last Thursday to review the development of the global travel industry over the past year, and share insightful discussions on future trends and new opportunities. The statement pointed out that the reason for Trip.com Group choosing Macau to host the summit was because the city has been one of very few overseas destinations open to Chinese travellers, and considered the safest during the global epidemic.
The statement said that the co-founder of Trip.com Group, James Jianzhang Liang, shared his opinion on the progression of international travel recovery and Trip.com Group’s reinforced continuous efforts to foster industry cooperation aimed at rehabilitating the market via video livestream. The statement pointed out that the attendees expressed confidence in the outlook for the travel industry, while recognising that Macau has steadily embarked on a path of recovery and growth as a safe and attractive destination.
The statement underlined that since the onset of the pandemic, Sands China and Trip.com have forged strong joint collaborations in seven areas, namely content marketing, campaign marketing, joined-membership benefit programme and campaigns, ‘Trip.com Group Gourmet’ events and products and hotel, MICE, and retail businesses, to support Macau’s tourism recovery.
