After the passing of a rare winter typhoon which spared Macau, the temperature will gradually increase to 22 degrees Celsius this week but the mercury is expected to plummet to 9 degrees Celsius next Monday, the Macau Meteorological and Geophysical Bureau (SMG) said in a statement yesterday.
According to the statement, a strong winter monsoon will be arriving at the South China Sea on Christmas Day and the temperature will start to fall. The statement added that the observatory expects rain on Boxing Day which will eventually lead to the rather low temperature next Monday.
The bureau said that as the weather will be changing daily during the Christmas holidays, residents should pay close attention to the weather forecast and be prepared for the cold weather spell.
