The Macau Monetary Authority (AMCM) said in a statement yesterday that residents can exchange common banknotes for XXIV Olympic Winter Games banknotes starting next Monday.
The statement said that as the online registration process for the XXIV Olympic Winter Games banknotes has already been completed, starting next Monday residents who have signed up can collect them. The statement said that each registered resident can exchange common banknotes for two 20-pataca XXIV Olympic Winter Games banknotes.
According to the statement, the collection period for the banknotes runs until March 25. The statement added that all registrants must adhere to the schedule and bring their Macau ID card (BIR) to collect the banknotes at their selected location during its operating hours. However, the statement underlined, each registrant can authorise a representative to collect the banknotes for him or her. The statement pointed out that the representative will need to bring his or her own BIR as well as a photocopy of the representative’s BIR with his/ her signature, a photocopy of the registrant’s ID with his/ her signature, the authorisation form, or the registrant’s Macau ID.
