The Macau government yesterday strongly condemned remarks “falsely” attributed to Chief Executive Ho Iat Seng about the Bitcoin Era app.
A statement by the Macau Government Information Bureau (GCS) said that Ho never made the purported remarks about the Bitcoin Era trading platform that allows its clients to trade in Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies.
GCS insisted that Ho never made the remarks in any interview.
According to the statement, the false information is circulating on the internet.
GCS said that the case has been passed to the police and that the government is reserving the right to take legal action.
