Guests can enjoy an Italian fine dining experience at 81/2 Otto e Mezzo BOMBANA at Galaxy Macau.
The restaurant was founded by Chef Umberto Bombana, who also founded the world’s first and only Italian restaurant with three Michelin stars outside of Italy, according to a statement from Galaxy Entertainment Group (GEG). The restaurant’s names comes from Italian director Federico Fellini’s epochal film “8½”, a favourite film of the chef’s.
After the success of the Michelin three-starred 81/2 Otto e Mezzo BOMBANA restaurants in Hong Kong and Shanghai, the statement noted that a third restaurant was launched at the resort in Taipa in 2015. It was awarded its first Michelin star from the Michelin Guide Hong Kong and Macau in 2016 and has retained it for six years.
It has also received numerous awards such as the “SCMP 100 Top Tables from 2016-2021” and “Best of Award of Excellence” from the Wine Spectator from 2016-2021, the statement underlined.
Leading an experienced team of chefs and restaurateurs to deliver a fine dining experience, Executive Chef Riccardo La Perna follows the philosophy of “The Luxury of Simplicity”, ensuring the sourcing of high-quality seasonal ingredients, while providing quality service and an exceptional dining environment.
The statement said that the chef showcases authentic flavours of Sicily, his birth place, through fresh and seasonal ingredients, sourcing various products from Italian farms and frequently altering the menu according to the season.
The restaurant is located on the first floor of Galaxy Macau’s Promenade Shops. Reservations and enquiries can be made by phoning 8886 2169, while emails can be sent to bombana@galaxyentertainment.com.
