According to an announcement by the Philippine Consulate General on Sunday, Filipinos who want to join the repatriation flights should consider getting vaccinated against the COVID-19 pandemic “as early as possible”.
The statement noted that the Philippines’ Department of Transportation (DOTr) issued the “Department Order No. 2022-001” earlier this month, which adopts the “No Vaccination, No Ride” Policy.
The statement pointed out that the order applies to “all forms of public transportation to, from and within the National Capital Region (NCR)* under Alert Level 3 or higher”. Moreover, the order states that “a person is considered fully vaccinated two weeks after receiving their second dose of vaccine”.
However, certain exceptions are made for unvaccinated individuals, including minors, and a “duly-signed medical certificate” must be presented as proof, stating the medical condition that prevents the respective individual from getting the vaccine.
Those who would like to make a vaccination appointment can scan the QR code provided, the statement noted.
* According to Wikipedia, Metropolitan Manila (aka Metro Manila) is officially known as the National Capital Region (NCR), adding that it is the seat of government and is one of three defined metropolitan areas in the Philippines.
Repatriation flight for January 25 postponed.
Meanwhile, a separate statement from the consulate last week announced that the repatriation flight scheduled for January 25 has been postponed.
The consulate said that it will continue to work with concerned stakeholders in securing a flight for Filipinos in Macau as early as possible, advising those who have registered for the repatriation flight to wait for further announcements in due course.
