The Macau Government Tourism Office (MGTO) said in a statement yesterday that it is launching a new series of local tours as a part of its “Stay, Dine and See Macao” project, but it will no longer offer the immensely popular helicopter route.

According to the statement, the “Stay, Dine and See Macao” project has been extended until August 31 and all interested residents and visitors can start signing up today at 10 a.m.

The statement said that residents will be able to enjoy the same kinds of offers as last year, in which residents can join a local tour for a subsidised price and enjoy a discount when purchasing a staycation package.

Self-choice itinerary

Besides the popular tour “Experience Macau by Land, Sea and Air” and other routes such as Nossa Senhora Village of Ká Hó, Macao Grand Prix Museum, VR experience/encounter with celebrities, experience ZIPCITY and GoAirborne and more, MGTO has launched a self-choice itinerary titled “Experience Macau your own style”.  The statement pointed out that the number of participants per self-choice tour group can be 4, 10, 30 or even more, adding that each self-choice itinerary is required to include two or more travel attractions. The statement noted that the tour duration must be at least five hours. The statement underlined that participants can set off for self-choice itineraries on any date between January and March.

According to the statement, just as on other local tours, self-choice tour participants must present their ID card and a valid green Macau Health Code at the designated location – the arrival hall of the Outer Harbour Ferry Terminal to proceed with registration formalities before setting off for the tours.

There statement pointed out that MGTO also launched new itineraries, such as Barra Pier and Coloane Pier, a new film at the Planetarium of the Macau Science Centre, a kid-and-parent magic trick workshop, a narrative film about Macau’s history, as well as buffet at Grand Lisboa Palace.

The statement said that MGTO will strictly comply with the Health Bureau’s (SSM) guidelines on COVID-19 prevention and control measures, including the requirements to wear facemasks, have temperatures checked and present a green Macau Health Code. The statement also underlined that participants will be required to scan the venue codes with their Macau Health Code app.
