Government-appointed Executive Council (ExCo) member Eddie Wong Yue Kai, whose company was commissioned by the government in 2013 to design the Cotai Healthcare Complex, said yesterday it was too optimistic to expect the construction of the project to be completed by 2019.

Wong made the comments to reporters after attending a Q&A session in the Legislative Assembly where Chief Executive Fernando Chui Sai On answered questions from lawmakers.

Last month, Secretary for Transport and Public Works Raimundo do Rosario said that he was “sure” that the construction of the public hospital in Cotai would not be completed by 2019 as previously planned by the government.
