The Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC) announced in a statement yesterday that applications for stall operators and creative handicraft workshops for the “Tap Siac* Craft Market” are open until March 4 (11:59 p.m.), with applications also being free of charge.
The craft market is set to take place from April 21-24 and April 28 to May 1 in Praça do Tap Seac and will be held four days a week from Thursday to Sunday for two consecutive weeks.
The statement noted that each week, there will be 133 handicraft and creative gastronomy stalls, allowing “more cultural and creative units” the opportunity to participate in the event while delivering a variety of “original cultural and creative products” to the public.
Applications for stalls can be made online via the market’s website at www.craftmarket.gov.mo. The statement underlined that “all products to be sold in the proposal must be original designs”, with 10 being the minimum number of types of products on offer.
Moreover, the proposal may also feature services offering “cultural and artistic experiences”. If the eligible applicants exceed the number of places available, the bureau will select the stall operators through drawing lots, the statement pointed out.
Meanwhile, the statement noted that creative handicraft workshop applicants may submit their proposals by email to DPICC@icm.gov.mo or in hard copy. Printed application forms can be collected from and submitted to the Cultural Affairs Bureau’s reception in Praça do Tap Seac during office hours.
The statement added that workshop proposals will be assessed and selected based on criteria such as the “completeness, feasibility, aesthetics, and attractiveness of the proposal, as well as budget and instructors’ experience”.
Application rules and the electronic application form can be downloaded from the same website, the statement said.
The bureau emphasised that the activities and arrangements are in line with the Health Bureau’s (SSM) COVID-19 pandemic prevention guidelines.
Enquiries can be made by phoning IC representatives Ms. Zhou or Ms. Lio on 8399 6289 or 8399 6292 during office hours.
* “Tap Siac” is the bureau’s alternative spelling for “Tap Seac”
