5 foreign drug dealers remanded in custody: MP

Four Vietnamese and one Tanzanian drug dealers have been remanded in custody after their cases were transferred to the Public Prosecutions Office (MP), an MP statement said yesterday.

According to the statement, the four Vietnamese drug dealers disguised over 1,000 ecstasy pills as chocolates. The statement pointed out that one of the four is an illegal immigrant, and identity documents which belonged to someone else were found on him.

Meanwhile, in the other case a Tanzanian drug dealer was found with 17.542 grammes of cocaine in his room.

According to the statement, the five suspects face charges for selling narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances that can lead to 15 years behind bars. The statement added that the illegal Vietnamese immigrant is also facing charges for the illegal usage and ownership of another’s identification documents, as well as for illegally entering Macau, which can lead to three years and one year imprisonment respectively.
