San Kio District Welfare and Mutual Help Association Vice President Lei Chi Iun said yesterday that in order to improve residents’ knowledge of local traditions his group will organise a raft of activities to celebrate the “Double Seven Festival”.
Lei made the announcement during an outdoor press conference in San Kio Garden to announce details of the activities.
According to information released by the association during the press conference, the “Double Seven Festival” will include an evening event with a host of activities for children such as an origami competition, workshop and catwalk contest. There will also be a traditional Chinese costume contest for adults. The aim is to remind the audience of the old times. The festival will include an orchid exhibition.
