Macau’s gross gaming revenue last month fell less than analysts estimated as the holiday season brought mass-market gamblers to local casinos.
Gross gaming revenue fell 4.5 percent year-on-year to 17.8 billion patacas, marking 26 consecutive months of declines, according to data from the Gaming Inspection and Co-ordination Bureau (DICJ) released yesterday. That followed an 8.5 percent decrease in June and compares with the median estimate of a 5.5 percent drop by nine analysts surveyed by Bloomberg.
Last month’s year-on-year decline was the second lowest this year, after February’s 0.1 percent decrease.
