A Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC) statement announced on Friday that the Treasure of Sacred Art of St. Dominic’s Church (Igreja de São Domingos, 板樟堂); will adjust its closing hours starting from tomorrow.

The adjustment aims to implement crowd control measures against the COVID-19 pandemic as well as to facilitate the church’s religious activities, the statement underlined.

The statement pointed out that the museum will be closed on Thursdays as well as from May 4-13 each year. Moreover, it will also close at 3 p.m. on Saturdays and the 13th and 25th of each month, unless the dates fall on a Sunday.

The museum is located in a three-storey building adjacent to the church in Largo do São Domingos (板樟堂前地) and features over 300 valuable relics from Macau’s Catholic churches, with the statement noting that it is one of the city’s well-known museums.

In line with the Health Bureau’s (SSM) COVID-19 pandemic guidelines, the statement emphasised that museum visitors must wear a facemask, undergo temperature checks, scan the venue QR code, present a valid “Macau Health Code” and maintain social distancing, as well as comply with on-site pandemic prevention measures.

With the exception of the previously mentioned dates, the museum is open daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Further details can be found at www.macaumuseum.gov.mo.

Enquiries can also be made by calling the bureau on 2835 7911 during office hours.
