World's COVID-19 death toll exceeds 6 million: report

The world's COVID-19 death toll exceeds six million, the real-time statistics reference website worldometers.info reported today. 

According to the US-based service, the global number of reported COVID-19 fatalities stood at 6,001,938 at 3:50 p.m. (Macau time). The United States (981,729), Brazil (650,645) and India (514,620) topped the world's COVID-19 fatality list among 226 countries and territories. 

The world's total number of reported COVID-19 cases stood at over 442.4 million this afternoon; 375.2 million of the patients had meanwhile recovered. 

The world's estimated population stands at 7.9 billion, according to worldometers.info.

Macau's COVID-19 tally stood at 82 this afternoon. No COVID-19 deaths have been reported. Macau has a population of about 680,000.
