The Municipal Affairs Bureau (IAM) said in a statement on Friday that the children’s playground in the Guia Recreation Square reopened on Saturday.
According to the statement, in order to provide more comfortable and safe leisure venues for residents to use, the bureau has optimised the playground by adding new facilities. The statement noted that the revamp project for the Guia Recreation Square started last year, adding that some of its other facilities had already reopened.
The statement said that for the playground, the bureau has installed various climbing-themed recreational facilities, targeting children aged between five and 12. Other than the playground, the statement added, the project also added a new shaded area, energy saving lights and outdoor water dispensers. The statement pointed out the bureau also has planted new flowers to improve the green area of the square.
The bureau urged parents to give safety guidance to their children when taking them to the playground, adding that they should also pay attention to the warning signs next to each piece of apparatus. The bureau pledge that it will continue to improve facilities in the city’s parks, as well as increase recreation areas around the city.
