The Science and Technology Development Fund (FDCT) will launch a new financial support programme to encourage individuals as well as small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to develop projects which will help transform Macau into a smart city, FDCT President Frederico Ma Chi Ngai said yesterday, adding the upper funding limit for each project will be 500,000 patacas.
Addressing yesterday’s press conference about the programme at the fund’s Dynasty Plaza office in Nape, Ma said the projects must be smart-city related and viable, adding they can involve various forms, such as mobile apps and third-party payment or e-commerce platforms.
According to Ma, the maximum development time for each project is 18 months, adding that half of the funding will be given before the development while the applicant will receive the remainder after the fund has approved his or her final reports on the projects.
