Integrated resort (IR) operator Sands China said in a statement earlier this week that its Sands Cares Ambassadors hosted local families from the local Children’s Dream Alliance on May 29 at the permanent teamLab Supernature Macao exhibition at The Venetian Macao in Cotai in celebration of International Children’s Day.

The event was titled “Sands Children’s Day for Music and Arts” and was held as part of Sands Cares Ambassador programme’s 15th anniversary and had 70 participants, according to the statement. It aimed to bring “art into every home in the community and fostering a sense of joy and fulfilment through art interaction”, the statement said.

The statement pointed out that participating families were treated to a quartet performance that featured movie soundtracks known to every household. The statement added that the Macao Orchestra arranged musical pieces for the event that aimed to let everyone “step into a world of childlike wonder through music”.

Sands China Executive Vice Chairman Wilfred Wong Ying-wai was quoted by the statement as saying: “Alongside igniting creativity and joy within the hearts of our young participants, the event gave our ambassadors an outlet for expressing Sands China’s unwavering commitment to positively impacting our community. We extend our sincere gratitude to our dedicated Sands Cares Ambassadors and the Macao Orchestra for making this event a success, and we will continue to strive for excellence in our community engagement initiatives to create a better future for all.”

Children’s Dream Alliance Founder and President Helena Ng said that the Children’s Day event enabled “children and parents to experience the joy of the festival. We believe that this visual and auditory artistic experience was the perfect gift for them.”

The statement said that after the musical experience, the participants were then able to explore the 5,000-square-metre teamLab SuperNature Macao, which features eight-metre-tall works by art collective teamLab. The ambassadors also presented gift packages purchased from the Fuhong Society of Macau to children at the event.

Sands Cares Ambassadors was established in August 2009 and has grown to include over 3,300 volunteers, according to the statement.
