MIECF continues to connect traders through online events

The Macau International Environmental Co-operation Forum & Exhibition (MIECF) announced in a statement on Friday that it striving to continuously enrich online events and connect traders.

According to the statement, online activities have been added to the event in recent years such as online business matching and online exhibitions to enable local enterprises and those from mainland China, Portuguese-speaking countries (PSCs), and the “Belt and Road” (B&R) to create “cooperative ties beyond geographic boundaries, and facilitate cross-sectoral integration and cooperation”.

The statement noted that some participating traders of the online business matching sessions have praised its online events. Among those are an electric vehicle brand agent representative who met a charging services firm during the 2021MIECF’s online exhibition and online business matching and that the event has been able to assist its participants in networking with other enterprises through the online services.

Moreover, according to the statement, a manager of a Malaysian company that “provides data collection and automation project design services for water supply and wastewater treatment” noted that they started business connections with suppliers in Macau and distributors in the Greater Bay Area (GBA) through the online business matching service last year.

The statement noted that an environmental protection enterprise representative in Portugal who has been participating in MIECF since 2017 said that the COVID-19 pandemic situation has raised the importance of MIECF’s online exhibition and online business matching services, while online events enable them to obtain current information on global environmental protection and learn about the demand for energy management solutions in different countries and regions.

The statement added that a Beijing technology enterprise in the biodegradable material business and frequent MIECF participant pointed out that contact with Macau’s catering enterprises was created through online services last year.

The “2022 Macao International Environmental Cooperation Forum & Exhibition” (2022MIECF) will take place from March 31- April 2, themed “Commitment to Green Development, Moving towards the Dual Carbon Goals”.

With both online and offline activities, the exhibitions and fora will focus on topics such as carbon neutrality and innovative technologies.

Moreover, through activities such as the 14-day online business matching from March 20 to April 2, the event will create “an exchange and cooperation platform for the environmental protection industry in mainland China, especially the Pan-Pearl River Delta Region (PPRD) and Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area (GBA), and their international counterparts, to promote the construction of a green ‘Belt and Road’ the new ‘dual circulation’ development paradigm of green economy together”, the statement added.

At the Green Showcase, a remote exhibiting zone will be arranged for exhibitors that are not in Macau to showcase their products and also enable them to join real-time business meetings. Moreover, professional consultation services will be set up in the Greenovation Zone to offer enterprises’ information linked to carbon neutrality and to facilitate companies’ green transformation, the statement noted.
