The government will restart its public housing project in Toi San, which has been suspended for several years because of safety concerns raised by residents nearby, in the third quarter of next year, according to the Infrastructure Development Office (GDI)

GDI Acting Director Tomas Hoi Chan Pong made the announcement in a reply to lawmaker-cum-businessman Chan Meng Kam’s written interpellation. The lawmaker sent copies of the reply to the media yesterday.

Chan said in his interpellation that the public housing project in Toi San was originally scheduled to be completed in 2012, but nothing had been built there yet. He asked when the government would finally start construction.
