The Sports Bureau (ID) announced in a statement yesterday that the bib collection for Sunday’s “2022 Sands China Macau International 10K” starts today.
The race event is title-sponsored by Sands China Limited and organised by the bureau in conjunction with the General Association of Athletics of Macau. The statement said that the Fun Run will start at 7 a.m. while the 10k race will start at 7:30 a.m. on Sunday, both starting from Sai Van Lake Square and finishing at the Olympic Sports Centre Stadium.
The statement noted that participants can go to the Olympic Sports Centre Indoor Pavilion between today and Friday from 12 p.m. to 9 p.m., and on Saturday from 12 p.m. to 10 p.m. to pick up their bibs, timing chips, identification wristbands (as part of anti-COVID-19 measures) and information documents.
The items can be collected upon the presentation of the registration receipt, ID and COVID-19 vaccination certificate confirming that at least two doses were administered on or before March 6, as well as proof of a valid negative Nucleic Acid Test (NAT) inclusive of the race day, the statement underlined.
The statement said that if the participant cannot collect the items, a representative can pick up the items. The representative must present his or her ID, the receipt with the signature and a copy of the entrant’s ID and proof of a valid negative COVID-19 test result with the participant’s name.
Participants are reminded to store the bibs, timing chips and wristbands in a safe place, the statement underlined.
The statement pointed out that participants must abide by Law no.2/2004- ‘Law on the Prevention, Control and Treatment of Infectious Diseases’, as well as observe the government’s COVID-19 pandemic prevention measures and quarantine requirements in Macau
According to the statement, the “Sands 10K Presents: The FUNkiest Costume Award” will also be held and participants must fill in their details on the Macau 10K app, as well as upload a photo of themselves wearing a costume showcasing the multicultural characteristics of Macau with their bib to compete for the award between 9 a.m. on Saturday and 9 a.m. on Sunday. Each participant in the FUNkiest Costume Award event must wear the costume throughout the race.
Ten FUNkiest Costume Award winners will be selected and will receive free hotel accommodation with meal vouchers, the statement said.
