Melco Crown Entertainment’s said in a statement yesterday that its net revenue for the second quarter was US$1.07 billion, up 17 percent year-on-year.
According to the statement, the increase was primarily attributable to the net revenue generated by Studio City, which started operations in October, and the increase in casino revenues at City of Dreams Manila, partially offset by lower casino revenues at City of Dreams in Cotai and Altira in Taipa.
On a US GAAP basis, operating income for the second quarter was US$72.4 million, compared with operating income of US$22.0 million in the second quarter of last year, representing an increase of 230 percent.
