MACAU4EDDY said in a recent statement that it is hosting a charity concert with renowned local artists at The Venetian Theatre to raise funds for a costly cancer treatment for Master Eddy on April 16 at 8 p.m.
According to the statement, Edilson Almeida, widely known as the beloved Master Eddy Murphy, received the troubling news last year that he had been diagnosed with multiple myeloma, a type of bone marrow cancer.
The statement said that he is a cherished Capoeira Master to thousands of students all over the world. The statement noted that he began a series of costly chemo treatments in Macau, the city where he has been living for more than 12 years, teaching, and spreading his love for Capoeira and transforming the lives of hundreds of people, from kids to adults, with his enthusiasm and passion for life. The statement pointed out that as a non-resident worker in Macau, Eddy has to pay the total cost of the treatment without having any subsidy from Macau’s health care system.
The statement pointed out that the MACAU4EDDY Charity Concert aims to raise awareness and ask for the support of the local community by offering a night with live music, entertaining emcees, amazing DJ’s and delicious drinks to help a meaningful cause. The statement said that at the live concert there will be live music from the Casa de Portugal Band, Billy Chan and Band, Jandira Silva and Band, and others, as well as a spectacular performance by Victor Kumar and his team with a Bollywood dance show.
The statement said that the MACAU4EDDY charity concert tickets are available for sale on the website www.macau4eddy.com. In case there are remaining tickets on the day of the event, it will also be possible to buy them at the venue. Each ticket costs 300 patacas per person, and there will be discounts for groups and families. The statement pointed out that venue doors will open at 7 p.m., and beverages will be available.
