A 20-year-old male university student “back-hugged” a 15-year-old female school student and touched her breast on March 29 as she was walking home after school, Public Security Police (PSP) spokesman Leong Chi Seng said during a regular press conference on Friday.
According to Leong, the victim was walking home after school, when suddenly a man, who had been tailing her, back-hugged her and touched her breasts. Leong pointed out that after the girl fought to break loose from the man, she ran home and told her family about the incident. The victim and her mother reported the case to the police soon after.
Leong said that on the same day, police officers were able to locate the suspect and arrested him at his flat in Areia Preta. Leong added that the man admitted the crime, and said that he did it because he was unhappy that his parents did not give him an allowance and also was attracted by the victim’s appearance.
Leong said that the suspect, who faces sexual harassment charges, has been transferred to the Public Prosecutions Office (MP).
