The overseas voting period for the Philippines’ presidential elections kicked-off on Sunday and runs until May 9.
In a recent post on the Philippine Consulate General’s official Facebook page, the consulate said that the voting venue is at Harbourview Hotel in Fisherman’s Wharf. The statement added that the voting schedule is from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily.
The extended hours for the voting schedule, as well as important instructions and reminders can be found at https://www.facebook.com/PHinMacau.
Before casting one’s vote, the statement reminded voters to check if their name is included on the Certified List of Overseas Voters (CLOV), have their valid Philippine passport, prepare one’s own list of candidates (one president, one vice-president, 12 senators, and one party-list), as well as a valid Macau Health Code.
In line with pandemic prevention measures, voters are reminded to wear a facemask, undergo a temperature check, present a valid green Macau Health Code and scan the Venue QR Code, observe a minimum of one metre social distancing, sanitise hands before and after voting, and exit the venue immediately after voting.
Moreover, the consulate pointed out that no political gatherings should be done “without securing the necessary host government permit”, as well as for voters to maintain “proper behaviour” at the venue.
Voters were also advised not to take their children to the polling station, while “people under the influence of alcohol will be asked to come another day when sober.”
