The Judiciary Police (PJ) said yesterday a man from the mainland was cheated out of 65,000 yuan (77,930 patacas) on an “international network” website.
PJ spokesman Ho Chan Nam revealed details of the case during a regular press conference yesterday. The incident began in September last year.
Ho said the 32-year-old victim, a non-resident worker, came across the “international network” website which stated that anyone who registered as a member could get a return of 30 percent on the money they deposited through online banking.
