Melco Resorts & Entertainment said in a recent statement that its Heart of House (employee area) roadshow series has generated over three million patacas revenue for local small-and medium-sized enterprises (SME) in the first quarter.

According to the statement, the revenue is benefitting 54 local SMEs and NGOs. The statement pointed out that through the roadshow, local SMEs can promote their brands and businesses by selling directly to 16,000 staff members at Melco properties such as City of Dreams, Studio City and Altira Macau.

The statement pointed out that on Women’s Day on March 8, the roadshow generated more than two million patacas from selling SMEs’ personal and skin care products, clothing, accessories, and electronics. Melco said that it has planned a series of roadshows for the rest of the year to support SMEs with additional revenue generating opportunities.

One of the Women’s Day roadshow SME participants, Mickey Lee, proprietor of Riko Zakkaya, was quoted by the statement as saying, “Thank you to Melco for supporting SMEs like ourselves – for supplying us with a wonderful space and opportunity to promote and sell our products. The Melco colleagues responsible for the project have been really helpful and supportive. We would love to take part again in the future if given the opportunity.”

The statement underlined that Melco’s philosophy on Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is to make a difference in the community in which it operates, adding that to follow the idea, Melco procurement is committed to supporting the local community through sourcing products and services from, and creating opportunities for the development and growth of local companies and individuals.
