The Environmental Protection Bureau (DSPA) said in a statement yesterday that it has set up a new “recycle FUN station” in Mong Tak Building in Mong Ha – the city’s first smart kitchen waste recycling machine.
According to the statement, in order to provide a more innovative and convenient way of recycling, the station offers a 24-hour recycling zone, three colour and glass bottle recycling bins and a smart kitchen waste recycling machine. The statement pointed out that the smart machine can automatically collect, record and weigh the kitchen waste.
The statement noted that since 2018 the bureau has been installing “recycle FUN stations” in different districts of Macau. The statement pointed out that residents have been giving positive feedback about the recycling stations, attracting teachers, students, parents, children, the elderly and domestic helpers to sort rubbish. The statement said that in order to educate the public about the importance of recycling, the stations have become an education base for schools, groups and associations to visit.
