MGM won a Bronze Award at the Asia Sustainability Reporting Awards (ASRA) 2021 with a report titled “Create a Better Tomorrow Today: Sustainability Report 2020”

MGM’s recent statement stressed that the report underlines the importance of its sustainable development by providing an overview of sustainability integrated into business operations, as well as the engagement of over 780 internal and external stakeholders.

The statement said that the award is the “finalist” in two categories, namely “Asia’s Best Materiality Reporting” and “Asia’s Best Stakeholder Reporting”, in competition with around 600 entries from 14 countries and regions through three rounds of assessment.

According to the statement, the report formulates a sustainability framework for the company, focused on “Responsible Business”, “Social Responsibility” and “Environmental Responsibility”, adding that a set of targets, including peaking carbon emissions by 2023, energy saving of 13 percent by 2025 compared to 2019 levels, was also outlined by the report.

Sustainable targets are a set of goals by 2030 that align with the nation’s climate goals and the Macau government’s sustainability policy to bring improvements to people, the environment and the economy, the statement pointed out.
