Love Macau Association President Chao Sao Fong slammed the Civic and Municipal Affairs Bureau (IACM) yesterday for its handling of the group’s request for a public area for a candle light vigil and for “misinterpreting” the law regulating public assemblies.

Chao also criticised the Public Police Security (PSP) for “illegally hindering” their vigil, which was scheduled to be held on Monday in Largo do Senado, but was abandoned since PSP officers did not allow them to hold it.

Chao, a casino supervisor, made the remarks during a press conference at the office of lawmakers Ng Kuok Cheong and Au Kam San in Iao Hon.
