A local security guard sexually assaulted a Vietnamese masseuse in a massage parlour in the central district last week while she was massaging him, Judiciary Police (PJ) spokesman Chong Kam Leong said at a regular press conference yesterday.
Chong identified the suspect as a 45-year-old male surnamed Choi who told the police that he works as a security guard.
According to Chong, the case occurred at around 2 a.m. on Thursday last week, when the 43-year-old victim was providing Choi with a massage.
Chong said that Choi suddenly pushed the victim to the ground, forcibly stripped her, kissed her breasts and touched her vagina. The victim kept resisting Choi before she finally succeeded in pushing him away from her and escaping from the scene. She reported the case to the police with the assistance of her colleagues.
According to Chong, Public Security Police officers went to the parlour and arrested Choi, after which they transferred the case to the Judiciary Police for further investigation.
A doctor later that day confirmed that the victim’s wounds on her right leg were the result of an assault, Chong said.
Under questioning, Choi refused to cooperate with the police. Nevertheless, Chong said, PJ officers have gathered enough evidence showing that Choi had sexually attacked and molested the victim.
Choi has been transferred to the Public Prosecutions Office (MP), facing a sexual coercion charge.
