The Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC) said in a statement on Friday that the performance of the New Dragon Inn, a programme in the 32nd Macao Arts Festival has been cancelled as the group is not able to come to Macau owing to COVID-19 pandemic prevention measures in the mainland. The bureau is therefore arranging refunds.
The programme was slated for May 28 and 29, the statement noted, while the outreach activity “Meet-the-Artist: Shi Yihong Heritage and Innovation of Peking Opera” on May 26 was also cancelled due to the group being unable to perform in Macau.
The statement underlined that those who have purchased tickets can contact the Macau Ticketing Network from May 15 to June 30.
Meanwhile, limited tickets are available for purchase for programmes such as the dance theatre “Vaster Far than the Ocean”, which has been created by dancers and choreographers from Guangzhou, Hong Kong and Macau which will take place on Friday and Saturday, and the children’s musical The Story of Kong Yiji on Saturday and Sunday, according to the statement.
The statement pointed out that the bureau will follow the Health Bureau’s (SSM) pandemic prevention guidelines for the activities.
