Sands Macao gave complimentary meal packs to local taxi drivers on Wednesday to celebrate the 18th anniversary of the hotel and entertainment complex, according to a recent statement by the resort operator.

The statement noted that it is an annual tradition for Sands to give a complimentary boxed lunch to local taxi drivers on its anniversary since its 2004 opening.

The statement highlighted that Sands Vice President and General Manager Ray Lok and some team members greeted cabbies arriving at the hotel and entertainment complex at noon on Wednesday by handing out the meal packs that featured doubled-boiled fish maw chicken soup with ginseng and pork bone, sautéed prawn, scallop and jade squash with spicy sauce, soy chicken with ginger dip, an anniversary birthday bun, and an apple.

Lok said in the statement that Sands is grateful for the essential services carried out by the taxi drivers, adding that he hoped the drivers appreciate the care given with the meal packs by Sands.
