New vehicle registrations rise 79 pct in March

The number of new motor vehicle registrations rose 78.6 percent year on year to 1,665 in March, the Statistics and Census Bureau (DSEC) announced yesterday.

According to a DSEC statement, the number of new registrations of heavy motorcycles leapt 88 percent to 1,034.

However, owing to a notable decrease in January, the number of new motor vehicle registrations dropped 5.8 percent year on year to 3,762 in the first quarter. The number of new light automobile registrations fell 28 percent.
