The Sports Bureau (ID) announced in a statement on Friday that the organising committee of the Macao International Dragon Boat Races 2022 has concluded the draw and technical meeting for the upcoming races.
The statement noted that the meeting was convened at the Dragon Boat Association of Macao.
According to the statement, 122 teams will be competing in the race, comprising “32 teams in the Open Category and 10 teams in the Women’s Category of the Macau Standard Dragon Boat Race (500m), 47 teams in the Open Category and 18 teams in the Women’s Category of the Macau Small Dragon Boat Race (200m), eight teams for the Macau Government Departments Small Dragon Boat Race (200m) and seven teams for the Macau University Student Small Dragon Boat Race (200m)”.
The event, the statement added, will also feature cultural performances and booths for creative products.
The statement pointed out that the organisers will act in line with the Health Bureau’s (SSM) pandemic prevention guidelines, while also emphasising that participants must abide by Macau’s “Law No. 2/2004 on the Prevention, Control and Treatment of Infectious Diseases” and follow the government’s pandemic prevention measures.
The races are slated for Sunday and June 3 at the Nam Van Lake Nautical Centre.
It is organised by the bureau and the Dragon Boat Association of Macao in conjunction with the Municipal Affairs Bureau (IAM) and the Public Administration and Civil Service Bureau (SAFP).
