The government should consider giving developers “flexibility” to set the floor area ratio for future building projects when compensating developers whom it owes land-lease rights, lawmaker-cum-urban planner Jose Chui Sai Peng said yesterday.

Chui made the comments yesterday on the sidelines of the annual Macau Youth Summit jointly organised by 10 local youth associations at the Macau Science Centre in Nape.

Chief Executive Fernando Chui Sai On admitted last month in the legislature that the government has used a total of 88,806 square metres of land which actually had been leased to developers.
