Among the many discoveries that man has made, there is one that I always feel eternally grateful for. It enabled me to function throughout school and continues to do so today. It is a drink that boosts productivity and is a great social drink. That drink is coffee, which I believe to be a better drink than bubble tea.

When compared to bubble tea, coffee seems to be the more serious, sophisticated and intricately made drink that inspires productivity. Throughout my academic life, coffee made it possible to get things done, especially on days where getting through a task seemed nearly impossible. From long nights of sitting in quiet public libraries to hours of revision in a cramped study room, its strong, unmistakable aroma and taste never fails to encourage me to keep going even today. It became a productivity potion stored in a cup, can or bottle that effectively woke me up and pushed me to face even the most dreadful tasks.

Coffee is also a drink that can bring people together. From having a cup with your family over breakfast, catching up with friends at a busy café to being the necessary beverage when you are working with other people, it is the drink that encourages one to think and socialise.  This is especially true for a hot cup of coffee as it can lead to more fruitful conversations as it cools down, slowly sipped like a glass of wine as you enjoy the company of those around you. Unlike bubble tea, which can just be consumed quickly and on-the-go, coffee can encourage conversations over the enjoyment of a cup or two.

Coffee is a great drink that contains productivity, while also bringing people together. Despite the ubiquity of bubble tea, it does not come close to rivalling coffee in many aspects aside from those that I’ve mentioned. This solidifies the reasons as to why I would always prefer coffee over bubble tea.
