Registration for the 2022 Summer Sports Festival organised by the Sports Bureau (ID) runs until June 29.

ID Sports Development Department Chief Chao Kuok Wai said during a press conference about the festival yesterday at the bureau in Zape that in order to promote more diversified sports activities and to encourage youngsters to spend more time doing sport to cultivate their team spirit, the bureau will hold this year’s Summer Sports Festival on July 10 at the Olympic Sports Centre on Taipa’s hockey pitch.

The activity will involve an obstacle course.

The Summer Sports Festival has been held for five years, according to Chao.

Chao said that both female and male residents who were born between 1972 and 2007 can form a team and sign up for the festival on the website www.sport.gov.mo/zh/summersportsfestival, underlining that each participant can only join one team. Chao added that each team should consist of five people and that at least one of them is to be a female.

Chao underlined that participants must present a valid green Macau Health Code, and have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19 at least 14 days prior, or a valid nucleic acid test (NAT) certificate confirming a negative COVID-19 result.

Chao told reporters after the press conference that this year the bureau has added four new items to the festival, hoping to offer participants “something fresh”, so as to encourage the public to continue participating in sports activities.
