A worker was injured after falling from a height of three metres on the construction site of the ongoing Black Box Theatre project next to the Macau Cultural Centre (CCM) in Nape yesterday, the Fire Services Bureau (CB) said in a statement.
The statement identified the worker as a 51-year-old local woman, who was taken to the private Kiang Wu Hospital.
There were no updates about her condition as of last night.
The statement said that the worker’s condition was stable when she was taken to hospital.
Firefighters have informed the Labour Affairs Bureau (DSAL) and the Public Works Bureau (DSOP) of the case for their respective follow-up measures, the statement said.
The project got off the ground earlier this year, and is slated to be completed in March next year, according to the DSOP website.
The project, which comprises the foundation work and the main structure, is being carried out by San Kei Ip Decoration Company Limited for a price tag of 98.7 million patacas.
The site where the Black Box Theatre will be located covers about 1,450 square metres. The building will have three storeys plus a one-floor basement. It will have a gross area of about 3,110 square metres.
The building will comprise two theatres, a backstage area, rehearsal rooms, dressing rooms and office areas.
