19 asymptomatic COVID-19 cases imported from HK, Taiwan & overseas raise Macau’s tally to 190

Macau’s Novel Coronavirus Response and Coordination Centre has announced 19 COVID-19 positive cases imported from Hong Kong, Taiwan and foreign countries that have raised Macau’s latest asymptomatic tally to 190.

Among the 19 asymptomatic cases, one was announced yesterday, six were announced on Monday, seven were announced on Sunday, three were announced on Saturday, and two were announced on Friday.

The patient announced yesterday is a 19-year-old local man who returned to Macau on Monday from the United Kingdom via Singapore. He had previously received three mRNA jabs.

The six patients announced on Monday comprise four local residents, a visitor from Taiwan and an Indian non-resident worker.

The four local residents, two males and two females aged between 22 and 81, returned to Macau from Australia, Hong Kong, Singapore and Taiwan, between Monday last week and Saturday.

The 56-year-old female visitor from Taiwan entered Macau on Sunday, while the 47-year-old Indian man entered Macau from Hong Kong Saturday.

The six patients had previously received three mRNA or inactivated jabs.

The seven patients announced on Sunday comprise five local residents, a Hong Kong visitor and a non-resident foreigner whose nationality was not stated by the centre.

The five local residents, four males and one female aged between 5 and 38, returned to Macau from Australia, Germany, Singapore and Taiwan, between Monday last week and Saturday.

The 24-year-old male visitor from Hong Kong entered Macau on Saturday, while the 54-year-old female non-resident foreigner entered Macau from Singapore on Saturday.

The seven patients had previously been inoculated with mRNA or inactivated vaccines.

The three patients announced on Saturday comprise three local residents, a one-year-old girl who returned from Taiwan on Thursday last week, a 66-year-old woman who returned from Hong Kong on Friday, and a 58-year-old man who returned from Singapore on Wednesday last week.

The girl has not been vaccinated against COVID-19. The woman had previously received two inactivated jabs, while the man had previously received three mRNA jabs.

The two patients announced on Friday comprise two local men, a 22-year-old who returned from Taiwan on Wednesday last week and a 54-year-old who returned from Singapore on Wednesday last week.

Both had previously received three mRNA jabs.

Macau’s total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases remains at 83.

Meanwhile, the centre has also announced a total of four COVID-19 “re-positive” cases imported from Hong Kong and Taiwan, on Saturday, Sunday and Monday.

All 23 asymptomatic or “re-positive” patients are now undergoing isolation at the Health Bureau’s (SSM) Public Health Clinical Centre in Coloane.
