The Meteorological and Geophysical Bureau (SMG) hoisted the No.3 cyclone warning signal at 0:30 a.m. today.
The signal was hoisted as a tropical cyclone was 170 kilometres south-west of the city at 1 a.m. It was heading towards the Leizhou Peninsula in Guangdong, at about three kilometres per hour.
According to the bureau’s website, the signal No.3 is expected to be kept hoisted this morning, as the level of the wind will strengthen.
