Macau's Civil Protection Operations Centre said in a statement tonight that according to an order by Chief Executive Ho Iat Seng, based on the assessment of the Novel Coronavirus Response and Coordination Centre, Macau is now at the "extremely high risk of suffering a community outbreak" of COVID-19.

In order to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus in Macau, and to protect citizens' life and property, pursuant to Law No. 11/2020 (Civil Protection Legal Regime), "the Macau Special Administrative Region declares the state of immediate prevention as of 1:00 on 19 June 2022."
