The Municipal Affairs Bureau (IAM) announced in a statement yesterday that after this weekend’s COVID-19 outbreak it immediately coordinated with the Macau Residue System Company Ltd. (CSR) and cleaning contractors to send more staff to conduct “large-scale cleaning and disinfection work” in locations with confirmed COVID-19 cases.
The statement noted that the areas cleaned and disinfected include nearby streets, communal areas of the residences and work locations of the confirmed cases, being done to reduce the chances of the pandemic spreading “as much as possible”.
Deadlines for public tenders extended
According to a separate statement by the bureau, public tenders for various municipal services and construction projects that have submission deadlines set at this week will be extended to allow suppliers a “reasonable amount of time to submit their tenders.”
The statement noted that the adjusted deadlines for submission will be announced in due course.
IAM general public service points remain closed through Friday
Meanwhile, the bureau said in another statement that its general public service points will be closed until Friday inclusive, but that self-service areas, municipal markets and cemeteries will be open to the public, as well as “IAM Connect” and the Civic Service Hotline (2833 7676) for public opinions.
The statement noted that the bureau will also maintain services such as sanitary inspections on food, live animals, and retail dog and cat food items. Applicants for sanitary inspection applicants for “live animals and retail dog and cat food items” must call 6686 3001 to book the service at least one day in advance.
The service locations for processing import licence/declaration and advance booking for sanitary inspection (food products) will be temporarily changed to Rotunda de Carlos da Maia Complex’s ground floor, the statement said. Enquiries, can be made by calling 2852 6943.
Moreover, the statement pointed out that those who scheduled appointments at the Macau Government Services Centre in Areia Preta, the Macau Government Services Centre in Taipa, and the IAM public services centres of various districts for June 22-24 will be contacted by the bureau for rescheduling.
The Macau Municipal Kennel and the Coloane Municipal Kennel are closed, the statement underlined, with their booked basic services suspended and only emergency services provided.
