The Macau Urban Renewal Limited (MUR), a company owned by the government, said in a statement yesterday that all on-site work on its Lot P temporary and home swap housing project has been suspended through Sunday because of the government’s decision to suspend most business operations this week.

Lot P is located at the ill-fated Pearl Horizon residential project in Areia Preta district.

The statement noted that the company implemented safety inspections before closing the construction site such as tying down building materials, storing flammable items properly, and setting up water pumps to prevent flooding, among others.

The statement pointed out that the Lot P construction has been carried out in line with the government’s COVID-19 pandemic prevention works, with measures such as requiring workers to test negative in their rapid antigen tests (RATs) and present a valid green Macau Health Code in order to be able to enter the construction site, wearing a facemask properly while working, and not gathering for meals.
